Hairy Toe
Productions began in 1989 for the sole purpose of introducing others to the
wonderful world of traditional storytelling and music. Since then the idea
has grown by leaps and bounds. It's very easy to get caught up in a story,
and let your imagination run wild. After it's over, it's like you were in
the story. It's magic! I want you to experience the magic.
The name "Hairy
Toe" comes from a story that I heard as a child. It turns out that the story
is an old southern folk tale that has been handed down from
generation-to-generation. It has been a favorite of mine for many years.
Traditional folk
music is another addition to Hairy Toe. We feature Vernon & Ruth Riddle,
The Pickin' Partners' String Band, and
Storyteller John Fowler, that's
me! All the musicians are
award winning artist.
There are a number
of folk lore projects in the works, and products which include books and
recordings that are guaranteed to keep your toes a-tappin'. In the future
look for listings of coming events, showcases, schedules and other
information promoting our artists.

an array of programs for all age groups, both on stage, and in the
